Meet Mrs. Mahoney
Dear Families,
I would like to thank you for taking your time to view this website. I look forward to getting to know both you and your child better. Together we can make this a fantastic school year. Allow me to tell you a bit about myself.
I am originally from Ohio (Go Buckeyes!). I received my undergraduate degree from Ohio State University in Psychology. I spent a few years working with children in schools as a guidance counselor aide, teacher's aide, and high school cheerleading coach. These experiences were so rewarding that I decided to become a teacher. I have a master's degree in Elementary Education from Ursuline College.
Originally I taught fifth grade in Euclid, Ohio for three years. I always wanted to live in a big city. So, I moved to the greatest city in the world: New York City. There I taught third grade. After I got married I moved to Long Island and started teaching at John H. West in 2006.
When I'm not working or learning something new to share with the children, I have many favorite things. Here are a few of them.
