Homework
Parents often ask the questions as to why their child has homework in first grade. Having homework in kindergarten is about developing responsibility skills and also allows for an important school-home connection.
Homework in Kindergarten will reflect the work done in class that day. Students are responsible for bringing home their homework assignment, completing it with adult guidance, and then returning it signed.
Developing these skills will help our children later on in their school life!

How can parents help their children with their homework?
Our homework assignments are developed to be done with adult guidance. Student's work should always be checked, signed and dated. Unless otherwise specified homework is due the following day of school.
Parents often wonder if they should correct their child's mistakes. I feel you should point out these mistakes in a kind and gentle way. This can be used as an opportunity to re-teach or reinforce a particular skill. Please feel free to write me a note or email if you are concerned about an area of work that your child may be having difficulty with. I'll respond back as soon as possible!
