Class Rules

The first five minutes of every class will be for instructional purposes.  It is here where students need to give me their undivided attention.  Then the next thirty minutes will be their time to work.  I constantly walk around to help them as much as they need.  The last five minutes are saved for clean up.

"Learning Posture"-  Is a signal I give to the class to make sure I have their total attention,  They must turn their seats face me quietly with nothing in their hands when they hear this cue.

"1-2 Eyes on You"- is a quick reminder I give students commonly right before we are finished so they know how much time is left to work.

Free Draw- If students finish their project early they may take a small piece of newsprint paper and draw whatever they choose for the rest of the period.   They may use whatever materials are available in their basket.

Washing Hands- Students must wait in a straight line in the storage room if they are washing their hands.  There is NO fooling around while on line.  They must quickly lather up and rinse.  Students can dry their hands back in the classroom.

"Clean up"- is very importantStudents must work together with their fellow classmates in order to leave the art room the same way they entered it.

An artist is only as good as their clean up!
