
Elements of Art
Color-
is produced when light rays reflect off
an object. (Red,
Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Violet)
Line- is a mark with greater
length than width. (-------------)
Shape-
has two dimensions height and width.
(Square, rectangle, circle)
Value-
is the lightness or Darkness of a
color. (An
apple is usually red but some parts are darker and other pats are lighter)
Texture-
is the way something feels or looks like
it would feel.
(Sandpaper, bark of a tree, snake skin)
Space- Positve
space is taken up by the objects. Negative
space is the empty space around the objects.
(The image in a photo such as a person is
positive space, the sky behind the person would be the negative)
Form-
Has three dimensions;Height, Width, and
Depth. (A sculpture or
something that can be viewed from 360 degrees)
