LET'S VISIT SPAIN 

INTRODUCTION

Buenos dias!  As we learn more of the Spanish language it is very important that we also learn more about a Spanish speaking country.  Let's travel through Spain and gather some information and facts that will help when you visit the country!  

THE TASK

The following tasks must be accomplished!

• Find cities in Spain you would like to visit.

• Find the weather for those cities and a sight to see there.

• Search for new travel vocabulary that will be useful when traveling to a Spanish speaking country.

• Answer questions based on places and facts of Spain.

There are many sites to help you find information on tourism, attractions,  weather, museums, currency, and language.  Have fun exploring Spain!

PROCEDURE

You have just won a trip to Spain!  (click here on MAPS to view a map of Spain that will help you choose your four cities)

•    What cities do you want to visit? (choose four)

•    What is today's weather in each of those cities?

•    What tourist attraction would you visit there?

During your flight would be a perfect time to practice your Spanish.  Learn four new words you could use during your trip.  (These words must be new to you and not from your class vocabulary)

Now that you have searched for information on your chosen cities and some vocabulary,  continue searching in order to answer the following questions:

• What is the capital city of Spain?

• Do you need a passport to go to Spain?

• Besides the Euro dollar, what is the official currency used in Spain?

• In which city is the Prado Museum located?

• Name four artists whose work is displayed in the Prado.

• Name the fiesta/holiday that takes place on January 5th in Spain.

• What happens on this holiday?

• Name three other fiestas/holidays that take place in Spain and tell when they are.

    EVALUATION

You will be graded as follows:

Four cities, weather for each and a sight for each-48pts

Four new vocabulary words-20pts

Eight questions-32pts

CONCLUSION

I hope you have enjoyed your trip to Spain.  You now have a great amount of knowledge of what there is to see in this fascinating country.  Spain is certainly filled with beautiful cities, interesting museums, wonderful attractions.  By practicing the Spanish language you will be able to get around more easily.  Keep up the good work!
