Homework Policy

• You will have homework every night—it’s district policy.

• You will read 20 minutes a night and write a comment. This is part of your daily homework.

• Each time you miss a homework a notice will be sent home for a parent signature.

• All of your graded tests are to be taken home, signed by a parent, and then returned the next school day.  You will receive a homework notice if this is not done.

• If you miss 2 homework assignments in a quarter, you will have a conference with the teacher.

• If you miss 3 homework assignments in a quarter, your parents will be called and you will have to stay in during recess to complete the missed assignments. Also you will be ineligible for our quarterly homework party. 

• If you miss 4 or more homework assignments in a quarter, there will be a conference with you, the teacher and your parents. At this meeting, a homework contract will be initiated.

• Everyone gets one FREEBIE for the year. (This means you are allowed 1 missed homework)

• If you do all your homework for the week, you get to play HW-opoly where you can win candy, prizes and rewards!

• There will be a homework party each quarter! You will be able to attend if you receive an “4” (no missed HWs) or “3” (1-2 missed HWs) as a homework grade on your report card.
