Hello Everyone! 
Welcome to my class!

    My name is Juliana Fillinger.  This will be my 7th year of teaching and my 5th year in 2nd grade.  I am looking forward to another wonderful year.  I am so lucky to be your teacher here in Plainedge.  I graduated from Plainedge High School in 1997.  In 2001, I graduated from CW Post with my Bachelor's in Elementary Education and then went on to receive my master's in Instructional Technology at New York Institute of Technology.   Teaching is so rewarding and that's why I decided to become a teacher.  Teaching children how to read and write is truly an incredible thing; especially in second grade because the children come in as emergent readers and yet leave as fluent readers.  I love guiding them to become better readers. I am looking forward to meeting all my new students in September. We are going to have so much fun together.

     Currently, I live in Massapequa Park, so don't be surprised if you see me around.  I also enjoy spending a lot of time outdoors.  I like to garden, go walking, biking and just to simply play outside with my 2 nephews.  You'll get to see a lot of them because I often bring them to school for some special events.  I also love to read, of course!  I just love learning about new things and sharing them with you.
