Mrs. Fillinger's 
2nd Grade Class
2007-2008

  Our class is made up of 18 students.  We have 8 boys and 10 girls.  Our days will certainly be busy, filled with many new learning experiences. 

   Learning about each other can be so much fun.  Every Friday, beginning the last week in September, we will celebrate All About Me.  Each student gets to bring in pictures of their family and friends and even share a few of their favorite things with the class. 

   In the classroom, we will be studying a variety of Classical Musicians.  Listening to classical music really relaxes the children and helps them focus while writing.  Classical musicians are really amazing, many of them composed music when they were the same age as our 2nd graders.

   In our classroom, I believe it is important for the children to work together as a team.  One reward is the hidden surprise that the children have to spell out. Whenever the children get a compliment from anyone in the school, I reveal another letter.  It is always exciting for the children to see what reward they are earning.  So if you see them working well as a class, please give them a compliment so they can get their next reward.
