DBQ Examples
The two examples provided here are not necessarily model essays, but are examples of the format we are looking for. Take a close look at the way in which the essay itself is outlined. The two essays have a clear and focused introductory paragraph that outlines what the rest of the essay will discuss. Examine how these two students cite the documents, but do not copy word for word what is stated in them. They prove what they are saying is true by directing (or referring) us back to the document that backs up what they have stated in the essay. Each paragraph itself has logical flow and does not skip around. In your essays, you must show have a clear outline as too what you are going to discuss. Your conclusions should reflect the main ideas of your essay. DO NOT introduce anything new in your conclusion, IT IS THE ENDING there is no reason to tell us anything new.
