Bucket Filler Kick-Off Assembly |
Schwarting's very own detectives, aka Mrs. Slattery and and Mrs. Koppas kicked off our character education program hosting a school-wide creative, engaging assembly which encouraged and taught our students to be bucket fillers rather than bucket dippers.
Bucket fillers act in way that is positive, kind and helps others as well as themselves be the best people they can be. Bucket dippers on the other hand, knock others down with negative or unkind words or actions.
Prior to the assembly Mrs. Koppas and Mrs. Slattery collaborated with fifth grade students who planned and acted out several scenarios during the assembly. First students responded as bucket dippers, and then with the help of our handy Rewind button, fifth graders modeled how to interact instead as bucket fillers. The assembly concluded with an original song created and performed by some of Schwarting's students promoting respect and tolerance as its message encouraged everyone to be bucket fillers.
We are very proud that so many students act as bucket fillers daily at Schwarting.
