Going Green Ornaments

In the spirit of the holiday season, many West students embarked on an art project by creating ornaments from recycled materials to reflect how their families observe the holiday season or for others to enjoy.  Many ornaments were made of recycled or re-used materials such as seashells or water bottles. Others highlighted tips on "how to green" your school or home, for example,
"Go Green.. Check the School Website For Lunch Menu!"

Students at John H. West proudly presented ornaments to representatives from the town of Oyster Bay. These environmentally friendly ornaments were then showcased on a "Going Green Tree" which was displayed at the Sunrise Mall and later at the Tilles Center for all to enjoy. By participating in this project, students reviewed the concept of recycling and how they can chip in to save the earth. For more information on going green, check out www.goinggreen.com.
