READ ACROSS AMERICA

2004

To start the day's festivities,  Mr. Faust read Horton Hatches An Egg to the entire school.  Then we had our annual game show.  The Hats and The Cats competed to be the experts on children's literature.  We had a raffle for Dr. Seuss's birthday cake and gift certificates to Borders book store.

When the students returned to their classrooms, each class did a number of reading activities.

During the day, all of the classes had guest readers.  Parents came in to read a story and share delicious snacks.

Many people dressed up as their favorite storybook characters.  We had The Cat In the Hat, the Grouchy Ladybug, Harry Potter, and Mother Goose.

For lunch we had an extra special treat.  We had green eggs and ham!
