| Energy poured out of the high school auditorium
on February 16, as the West
and Eastplain staff volleyball teams went up head-to-head in a fundraiser event organized by teachers , Gary Levitan, Greg Nerko, Erinn Martone and Sue Ahlert. The West and Eastplain school communities had a blast while helping others. |

| Sportsmanship and healthy competition were modeled and encouraged by the staffs of both schools. Eastplain team members cartwheeled onto the sidelines (yes even principal Emily O'Brien did an impressive cartwheel) as they were announced, while West members high fived. | |
| The crowd cheered so loud that our emcee, Mark Nocero, who has an extremely powerful voice, could not be heard even with a microphone. The smell of sweet treats filled the hallways as the West and Eastplain student councils led by advisors Monica McMullan, Sharon Batkin, Holly Fenton, and Alexis Broder, ran a bake sale. | ![]() |

Staff volunteers pitched in to make sure the evening was a success by selling tickets, taking photographs, keeping score and cheering their teams on. Congratulations to the West team who won all three games! There will surely be a re-match next year. What a great way to create a real sense of Plainedge community and spirit! |
