Flu Information
Influenza (the flu) is an infection of the nose, throat, and lungs caused by influenza viruses. There are many different influenza viruses that are constantly changing. They cause illness, hospital stays and deaths in the United States each year.The flu can be very dangerous for children. Lice Information
Also called Pediculus humanus capitis (peh-DICK-you-lus HUE-man-us CAP-ih-TUS), head lice are parasitic insects found on the heads of people. Having head lice is very common; as many as 6-12 million people worldwide get head lice each year.
Ringworm Information
Ringworm is an infection that can be caused by several different types of fungus–not worms. The “worm” part of its name comes from the wavy, ring-shaped blemishes that it causes on a person’s skin. Ringworm can affect skin and nails anywhere on the body, even on the scalp. Ringworm of the body is called “tinea corporis”, of the scalp, “tinea capitis”, of the feet, “tinea pedis” and infections of the groin, “tinea cruris”.
