My Learning Plan Helpful Hints
My Learning Plan (MLP) is the web-based data program that we use for course registration, course proposals, conference approvals, and so much more!
User Name & Password: First-Time Log-On
- Your user name is your complete Plainedge email address. (Example: deborah.fallon@plainedgeschools.org)
- Your password that has been assigned to you is “Changeme”. Once you log on, you will be able to change your password to what you would like.
- You will see a page with Learning Plan at the top – Look to the Left
- On the left side you will see a list beginning with My Portfolio.
My Portfolio – Will list all courses, conferences, and administrative assignments that you have completed.
Salary Increment Link – to apply for salary increase when you have the required number of credits.
District Catalog – Teacher Center courses, District Courses and on-line courses are listed here. Just scroll down, choose a course that you would like to take, and click on REQUEST APPROVAL. Your principal will automatically receive your request.
Calendar – Anything you register for will automatically show up on this calendar and you can also add your own events.
Other Catalogs Listed: Western Suffolk BOCES, Nassau BOCES, Eastern Suffolk BOCES, NYSUT, and MESTRACT
Fill-In Forms: (to apply for prior approval, salary increment, or to document hours for payment)
You must fill out a form in its entirety. If you don’t have time to complete a form in one sitting, you are able to SAVE as Draft and then go back to it at a later date. Once you are finished, you must click on SUBMIT at the bottom of each form for approval.
175 Hour PD Requirement – for teachers required to put in their 175 hours every 5 years.
In-District In-Service Request – for prior approval for In-Service Credit. (Send a copy of Participation Certificate to Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction when course is completed.)
Conference Request – Used to request prior approval to attend a conference. If there is more than one day you are attending, put that number in the # of meetings box and then other boxes will appear for you to enter each date. An email will be sent to your principal, and then to the Assistant Superintendent for approval.
Grad Credit-Professional – to request prior approval for Graduate Credit. (Send copy of official transcript to Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction when course is completed. Can send (scan and email) an unofficial copy if you are applying for salary increment until the official transcript comes in.)
- 2017-18 ILP Form – For Teaching Assistants
- NTI Log Form – Used to submit for each NTI activity to get payment
- BOCES Request Form (AESOP) – to request prior approval for a BOCES activity
Activity Proposals:
- TC Course Proposal – if you would like to propose different types of courses for the Teacher Center
- Change Password – click to change your password
All Teacher Center Courses, Workshops, Book Talks, Collegial Circles, etc. appear on the MLP site under the “District Catalog” link along with any necessary approvals for professional development credits/hours.
- 1 in-service credit courses (15 hours)
- Credit-by-hour offering
All of our offerings can be found by clicking on the “District Catalog” link within MLP. Once you are viewing the catalog, click on the offering you would like to enroll in and then click on the “Request for Approval” button. Complete the form and click on the “Submit” button at the bottom of the screen.
How to drop…
Offerings on MLP have a waitlist. If your plans change and you cannot attend, PLEASE DROP it so that someone on the wait list may attend.
- Just click on the title of the course where it appears under “Approved and in Progress”
- Click the “DROP” option
- Click “Yes, I am sure I want to Drop”
To receive final approval and credit, you must complete the course evaluation and mark the course complete.
