Congratulations to Plainedge High School senior Leah Moore for completing her Girl Scout Gold Award project this year. As her focus, she developed a cookbook for students in our Life Skills program. The Gold Award is the highest honor a Girl Scout can achieve and represents the ability to solve real-world problems, leadership and lasting community change. The goal of the cookbook is to teach students with disabilities cooking skills in a resource that provides directions in a modified manner including visuals, clear language, and detailed instructions. Leah shared this resource with our students and staff and it has been used in some of our classroom activities.
